Our client, Rometal Constructive Solutions, established in 2000, is recognized for its highly qualified steel constructions for the maritime  and offshore industry. In addition to the transportation and installation of new build constructions they modify existing constructions and (de)mobilize heavy lift vessels. The Rotterdam site and well-equipped section hall are perfectly located and give direct access to the river Maas. Also they have a production site located in Romania.

QA Coordinator

Job information

As a QA Coordinator you work on improving the quality of tenders and projects. You manage the expectations and interests from a quality perspective of all parties involved, and work closely with the Project Managers. The QA Coordinator reports to the Managing Director.

As a QA Coordinator at Rometal you ensure adequate quality assurance on project level. In this all-round, hands-on and standalone position you are responsible for improving QA documentation and processes in the organization and projects. An important task is to create quality reports (measurement reports, NCR’s, inspection reports). You do this by interacting with the project teams and stakeholders. You are also responsible for:

• Give advice and support management and staff, give direction and guidance on QA (and also HSE) matters and develop effective policies, guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe workplace and improve safety awareness and behaviour. (Focus in this role is 85% at QA matters and 15% on HSE matters)

• Preparation of new and revised procedures and instructions. Proactive role in monitoring the quality of projects
• Preparation of tender reviews and giving support of tender teams in quality matters;
  • Writing PQP
  • Writing ITP
  • Writing HSE plans
• Supporting start-up of new projects, join Kick-off meetings
• Invite/receive customers for Quality inspection, signing off release notes and FAT documents
• Internal and external audits (for example ISO 9001, ISO 3834, ISO 14001, VCA) resulting in improved Quality awareness and behaviour and a decrease of incidents and accidents.
• Support management in ensure Quality Assurance and HSE compliance on projects, sites and external locations (both on and offshore)
• Visit the workshop on regularly basis. Instruct or if necessary intervene on safety risks and behaviour
• Risk management;
• Implementing ROSA (Rometal Safety) campaign in the daily process

• Liaize with customers on project QA matters
• Advise on training programs

Job requirements
You are an experienced QA Coordinator, who can communicate excellently on customer and project management level. With your analytical skills, your writing skills and your conceptual and process way of thinking you support our project teams. Furthermore, you bring along:

• Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Integral Safety science
• Degree or certified proficiency in Quality Management is a pre;
• At least 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance roles, preferably in the Offshore or Steel construction
• Must be able to write integral safety plans for the projects at our own yard and at the customers site
• Good technical, organizational and analytical skills
• Knowledge of technical norms and standards
• Can-do mentality and the ambition to make a difference
• Good communication and leadership skills
• Excellent command of the English language.
• You live in The Netherlands.
